Teachers in Training

I've been noticing a recent trend in all of my teacher education classes. There seems to be a greater tension in these classes than in any other I've experienced. I believe this is because most of us are in our last semester before student teaching. With each class period, we come closer to being on our own. With each assignment, we scramble to understand how to apply this in 3 months. With every reading, we wish for photographic memories to permanently imprint the contents into our brains. Trust me, there is no feeling quite like a classroom on the brink of hysteria. One of these days, our classroom is going to spontaneously combust in nervous energy. It's really quite terrifying.

fantastic picture to go with your post - what a riot!! You are hilarious! Love you and hope you all manage to survive as you struggle through this last semester - I personally think you are going to be a fantastic teacher, but I can see how it would be terrifying to go out on your own - especially with a bunch of high school students - that would scare me! :)

Can I tell you how excited I am to have found your blog? Hooray--someone who uses words like "remonstrated" and uses proper contractions! (don't tell anyone else I read that I said that, ok? :)

I know the feeling. I'm finally doing field placement in my grad program, and it's soooo much better than class. I was terrified, but I love it. You'll be great.

Hey Becky! It's fun to run into your blog and hear about your student teaching etc. I cant believe you are almost done! What are your plans after student teaching? I love it when other single ladies have blogs. Don't get me wrong- there's nothing as adorable as little children... but it's just nice:) I have a blog too and we should be blogging buddies:) tessamayfarr.blogspot.com Love ya!
